When my son was born, I was an investor, a hi-tech entrepreneur, and engineer. By conventional measures, I was successful, or at least I thought I was. There was money, a house, a car, and a lucrative career, but inside I felt void and that made me fearful I might not be ready for the most important job of my life – being a dad. During my son’s first year, my instincts told me to work harder because I was responsible for a tiny person whose future seemed totally dependent on me. However, I was already working too much and more work obviously meant less time with my son. Additional money wasn’t making me feel better, and it certainly wasn’t making me a better dad. Something had to change.
I started reading books, talking with my happiest friends, and watching documentaries on how good lives are made. Gradually, I realized that my life was totally out of balance, and decided to do something about it. At the time, there was a buffet of systems and plans for maximizing overall happiness and life balance. I tried a lot of them, let go of the ego-driven desire to be amazing, and ultimately found that by prioritizing my family and friends, physical health, and spiritual life as I had my professional responsibilities, peace of mind and contentment found me. I also discovered that I was more productive at work when the other areas of my life were given proper attention.
Today, I live in Hermosa Beach, California, which lives up to its name (hermosa means beautiful in Spanish). The weather is gorgeous year-round, so I get my feet in the sand and my body in the ocean nearly every day. I am a proud father of a 20-year old son in his third year of college. I love running, yoga, weight training, basketball, surfing, swimming, skiing, and most recently, the pickleball craze. Every day, I read, sketch, play piano, and try to learn something new. Balance gave me the life I could only dream of during my first four decades. Now my passion is sharing these ideas with others. I look forward to helping you to live a healthy, happy, balanced life.

"Going through the SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) really opened my eyes to who my competition is and who who my ideal target customer should be. I could then better focus my energy to find and close those clients." Ian C.

"I had been in the same job for 30+ years, and didn’t realize how much the stress of my work environment was causing me to live a very unbalanced life. It was effecting my overall health, I was not sleeping well, and I never seemed to have enough time to "enjoy life". John helped me to take a step back and re-evaluate what's important
